I cant get off my computer...help?

From the start of kindergarten all I do is go on the computer and do nothing else. It has caused my marks to drop to a failing grade and made me very unsocial with the real world. Everyday after school all I can think about is playing on the computer, even when I have something important to do (study for Exam's, Projects). I tried to stay away from my laptop, but for some reason I make these excuses to myself that I need my laptop for researching or typing, however I always end up playing on my laptop for some reason. I ask advice from my friends and parents however due to my lack of social skills they get confused and say that I am just rambling nonsense. So I ask you what am I supposed to do.

I know how you feel, its like wanting to be an english major, but you have to take history, algebra or some other class that is not english. I do not know your grades, are you doing well in school? If so then I say that you should think about doing an internship, where you can work for a company and see what you will actually do. If you want to do environmental engineer but not have to do technical stuff, maybe try the social side like working in a non-profit group environmental agency where you can use your interest but may not have to be too technical. You may also need a break, or maybe have too many classes. I know sometimes things turn out different than what we think, so if you really cannot see yourself waking up everyday and doing this job then you may need to change to something else within your interest.

I am a college grad, who graduated three years ago. Graduated with a bachelor of science in physics. My job for the last five years has been tending bar, the same job that supported me in school. Due to my work schedule and other activities, I wasn't the most focused student. This of course caused gpa to suffer to about a C average, with little supplemental experience and direction. I am very well rounded bright guy capable of much more. Plus my time in the food service has taught me to be very charismatic. My question is what my best career option is? I got sick when I was 17, a senior in high school, and I had to quit my job and I had to enroll in my school's "home-bound" program to be able to graduate. (A teacher comes to your home and teaches you there, like a tutor, but free as it is a public school system program. You are allowed to graduate with your peers at the school's regular graduation) My mom has her own health problems. However she works full-time at the school's administration building. But she does not make enough money to support us with the expense of all our bills AND my medical bills AND her medical bills. And I have so ma.y health problems the doctor's can't even tell me what's going on with my body to cause so many diagnoses and then STILL have unexplained problems!!!!!! I have, for sure, gastroperesis, IGG3, anemia, osteoporosis, cystic ovarian syndrome, Chron's, IBS, Fibromyalgia, acid reflux disease, and my personal favorite...the bones in my lower back are rapidly degenerating. Plus all the depression, anxiety, and insomnia caused by all the above. The doctor's are probably (In my opinion ...) missing the cause of all this and they're really diagnosing my SYMPTOMS that are a part of a LARGER disease or condition. Because I've STILL, even with all those diagnoses, have many symptoms that NONE of them explain. Also, WHY would I have SOOOOOOO many different things?!?!?!?! So ANYWAY the POINT of all that was to explain why I can't work and why I have medical bills SOOOOOOOO HIGH!!!! Now, I have FINALLY been given social security because of all that. And it does help make it easier, but it still falls quite short! And I applied for food stamps, but because of my age (21) I had to apply for food stamps with my mom's income, and they consider her $10 an hour job to be MAKING TOO MUCH, so we were denied! So, anyways this month has been even worse than normal financially because I had to be hospitalized twice and my mom got a kidney stone and had to have tests done and my phone broke (our ONLY phone), so now we have nothing and are both overdrawn in our bank accounts to the limit, we are out of food, we are out of toilet papers and other toiletries. We have nothing of value to sell. We have no family still living who are able or willing to help. My abusive, alcoholic father "hates" me, and left my mom years ago. My sister left with him. So my 4 month old laptop speakers got busted but i didn't do anything to break the speakers though and the laptop was in good condition. I took it back to best buy geek squad a week ago and they replaced my speakers and they also said they changed my hard drive and it got back to me today. They mention that they changed the hard drive verbally and on paper and I'm amazed at how they changed it without me losing my data. How were they able to do that ?? It's amazing however they did it. Ever since I was 2 years old(yes 2) I wanted to be a Marine. Well I tried to join when I was seventeen and was disqualified at MEPS for hearing. I failed the test by just a couple of decibals. They made me copy a letter that was prewritten and submit it for a waiver to bypass the hearing issue. I then tried two more times at getting in and failed. After the Marines I have tried to get into every single branch but because I've tried for the marines three times noone will accept me. you should talk to your guidance counselor/advisor about it. i also personally believe that you should take some time when picking out a major, and make sure that it's what you REALLY want to do... you probably won't know that without some more life experience and some college classroom experience. my suggestion is to 1) shadow some different agencies or businesses and see if it might suit you; 2) take some general classes before deciding on a major. do some research on different careers and learn as much as you can before making a decision.

I took my child's father to court for child support after almost 3 years and when we first went he surprised me with an attorney and I got intimidated and settled for a small amount then I went back the next month for an increase and I filed for custody and I received a paper saying he filed for custody also and he said my house is unsafe and unstable(I live with my dad who makes a crap load of money being a cop,how much more safe and stable can she get? ) I work,ive never been arrested,i dont do drugs and i take great care of my child and every one knows that. Two Weeks Late but Negitive Test Results?

I have been TTC for over a year. My period is now over two weeks late (which it has never been late, ever. I know to the day when it is going to start) and I have taken at lease seven home pregnancy tests that have all shown negative. After a week of my missing period, I called my doctor for a blood test. I got my results back that day which were also negative. I am tired all the time, I have cramps like I should be expecting my period, but it never comes. I am nauseated, have back pain, my breasts feel heavy, and I am constipated (which I have never been before). From all the research I have done, many say that women may not show a positive test until almost being four MONTHS pregnant due to lower hormone levels. This is just so unusal for my body... I have never been pregnant before so I don't know what exactly to expect to feel like, I just know what is normal for my body. Is there a chance I am pregnant? I am planning on scheduling an ultrasound if I miss my next period. I am not under anymore stress than I usually am, plus why would I be having all these weird symptoms? Can anyone give me some encouraging words?????

What to do about getting a ferret?

I'm a college student that lives in an apartment that allows caged animals (I asked specifically about ferrets, they said fine, it is also legal in my state to have them). I've been doing nothing but research on them since I saw a couple in the pet store 2 weeks ago. I know everything that I need to get for them, and I know that they require patience and training (at least if you get a kit). My question however, is that if I were to decide to buy one, pretty much my only option is to get one at a pet store, and I've heard nothing but bad things because 99% of those ferrets come from Marshall Farms, at least that's what I've heard online. I want to know if these ferrets are still healthy overall (if the pet stores took proper care of them) and if they are happy like ferrets people get from quality breeders that actually care for their kits. Also, my decision may be slightly rushed because the pet store near me is getting some kits in on friday, and before they are neglected (if they are) I could buy one and spend time with it properly. So my 5 month old laptop I bought from best buy got busted and it was a 14 inch toshiba laptop and I took it back to best buy a week ago to have it repaired. Am I Mentally Ill Or Am I A Normal Teen?

Just to start off I REALLY NEED SOMEONE TO TALK TO my life just really sucks. Now i know what everyone going to say im just a teenager life ill feel like its the end of the world being a teen but it's not. I know okay, but no one knows my whole life story but me it's a very long story but ill cut it short i pretty much grew up well im still growing up with a very controlling, negative, abusive dad and that just ruined my life completely. Now growing up in my house with drugs, police, being abused my life is really a horrible shame. Im treated like a loser sometimes at school im more of a sensitive guy and im usually a big target with friends, im also overweight and that takes a huge part of my life. Now i literally only talk with most people through internet, text messages, and pretty much video games. Now pretty much the only person i have let in my life that i love with all my heart would be my mother but lately shes really been turing on me BAD and im becoming very nervous because of horrible attitude she is giving me (No shes not on her period) shes literally been treating me like crap for many negative reasons i can't evan list that is how many there are, well anyways her and my dad have been saying its because of too much video games thats screwing me up. Well sorry i need to have a social life too. I really wish they both can just be in my shoes one day and feel what its like to be me They have NO clue because if they did im sure they wouldn't treat me like this. Now i wouldn't consider my self as spoiled, arrogant, rude. Im more shy, emotional, and physically tough. Well, its second semester and I don't have any real friends. Not even friends. Like, these are just people that I choose to talk or not to talk to. I feel alone, and it doesn't really help when 1)I don't like talking to people because they run out of things to say and they just do stupid things and I don't have the patience, and 2)I don't know which extracurriculars to do. I was recently interested in a position in my college's singing group, and they pretty much threw me into that, and I didn't feel like I was interested at all. But every other freshman seems to be having the time of their life at college, partying with friends, actually sure about their major (and I'm in business but as of now I have no idea WHY other than my dad's final share of money determines if I even go to school here and he's ordering that I major in business. I haven't found the confidence to speak up to him yet, he's very strict and gets angry when things don't go his way), they have a hobby they KNOW they love and are excelling in- and here I am, doing-nothing-but-getting-good-grades high school alumni, second semester freshman, barely getting past with a 3.3 as a 1st gpa, and instead of talking with others would rather write about her life in journals and Yahoo almost everyday. If I could do anything I would just get high and live in my imagination, but none of the creative degrees have any demand. I've had depression & anxiety for about 5 months since my first panic attack , for what I can tell you what the causes where , i was stress out a lot but i was never depressed and sad , i was a happy teenager , out going and living life good with no regrets, but two years ago my father passed away and we were really close life went down hill , and i had a girlfriend whom was my best friend for 4 years since middle school who knew me very well and always had my back , at the time my father passed she was still my girlfriend and she was there through out everything , but we ended up breaking up , I started to get stressed but i was like you know move on . Things got better but I started as alot of teens do experiment with drugs , I started smoking marijuana then cigarettes , then doing alot of dumb stuff hurting my mother , who cried every night because I acted a fool and didn't go home and got in trouble with the law, and then one day my friend wanted to give me Ecstasy i refused because i thought pills were bad , but then he was like just do it once , and i took one , and i wanted more for about 1 year I partied crazy I took about 300 pills or more & got in alot of trouble , hurt my family & friends , then one night August 2010 I had the worse panic attack that lasted 4 hours I even went to the ER for it , then I went sober and was suffering with anxiety , then that led to depression , i was getting help and feeling alot better , feeling you know happy again , was out going even tho i was depressed and good off drugs, then one night i had to urge to take Ecstasy again then I did it about 15 more times, and then had another panic attack, i quit everything , done , and then life got better for me and went to counseling & was seeing a psychiatrist , but i stopped going because I felt better in life I was happy , but my psychiatrist told me to come back , but I didn't listen, & I controlled my anxiety and for some time It was gone , then I got into trouble , went to Juvenile Hall , and my anxiety was pretty much something I myself controlled & my depression was getting a little better , I went to a psychiatrist while i was locked up, and when i got out i was happy , still had anxiety and depression was getting a little better, but I just let it be. And im making my mother happy , going to school, getting good grades , trying to do good in life, but about 4 weeks ago bad thoughts started going in my head out of no where , like death , disease, unwanted sexual thoughts ,just really disturbing thoughts, and this is the worse I ever felt in my entire life , anxiety went over board, i can't sleep , and when i do sleep i wake up and i can't go back to sleep , this really hurts its in my head everyday and i can't get it out i did research and did a test on OCD and it says i most like have OCD, and for the first time ever , i thought about suicidal thoughts and NO i know im to strong for it , i got family , i got friends , i got a good soul, im changing to a better person , but this OCD gets my mind going crazy , im just asking to people just like me , is there hope ? Im seeing a psychiatrist earlier today and im going to see them for a while, does anyone have any success of treating this , it makes my life miserable, I pray everyday , & i tell myself im to strong , im going to be better one day , it helps , but im just asking what should i do , helpful hints , or personal stories of getting better , i don't want these thoughts , im only 16 still young , & btw i am going to refuse the pills the psychiatrist give me please help out , thank you and god bless. <3

Yes, they do. I can only speak to the Navy and Marine Corps. At a more junior level, many officers actually know the folks who write their orders --their detailers(USN)/monitors(USMC)-- personally which certainly can make a difference. As you get more senior, in many cases your community will negotiate where folks will go and the C.O.s and Commodores will go to the detailer and express the desires of the community. If you have a good Skipper or Commodore he or she will ensure that you have a solid grasp of what is best for your career, ensure they are aware of your desires, and then they will go to bat for you in this process. My last two sets of orders were arranged by senior officers in my community--Helicopter Anti-Submarine Warfare (Light)--with no direct contact between me and the detailer. Enlisted orders mostly just put you into the best fit based on your wishes and what requirements exist that must be filled. Officer orders are far more of a negotiation process, and as you get more senior, far more of a team-building and best fit process which take personalities and experience into account with many hands involved.

Army Basic Training Questions? Females from BCT HELP!!!?

Ok, I need to lose 130 pounds then I want to join the army. Ofcourse if you have any advice for losing that much weight please tell me. But I also have some other questions. Right now I am attending school to get a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in game art and design. While going to school I have found that I very much enjoy coding and think that game programming would be suitable career for me. Mass inside my daughter's nose?

My daughter has been complaining for a while now that her nose is always stuffy. She recently is starting to try a pick her nose, something which I wrote off as typical of a child. Today, she was really at and started to cry when I scolded her and told her to remover her finger from her nose. She said it was stuffy, so I offered to take a look. To my surprise I found that she had somehow made a piece of tissue into a perfect little ball and got it stuck up her nose. I Managed to pull it out, but I felt a hard bump under her skin that was clearly visible, thinking that she might have more tissue jammed up her nose, I took another look only to be horrified by this bright pink growth on the inside of her nose! It is not close to the septum and is only on one side of her nose. I thought it might be a polyp, but then got scared when I researched that it could be cystic fibrosis, asthma or cancer! There is no history of cystic fibrosis, nor does my daughter have symptoms. She is not symptomatic of asthma either. I am worried this is a tumor, and could be cancer. HELP! What else could cause this in a 3 year old toddler? I am taking her to see the doc in the morning, but I am so worried.
